Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have not been short of news to talk about over a couple of beers so far this summer, and that looks set to continue as Jurgen Klopp looks to mould the side into on he really sees as his own.
As well as bringing in four players, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is also looking to clear out the deadwood in the squad and it has become clear that he sees a future for former Aston Villa striker, Christian Benteke, elsewhere.
According to reports in the Mirror, the German manager has told the striker that it would be best to move on this summer, with Crystal Palace having shown serious interest.
With no European football at Anfield next season, the Reds manager is looking to narrow his squad down and has told a group of fringe players that they would be best served leaving.
Benteke, a Belgian international, arrived on Merseyside just last summer for a fee of £32.5m, and Anfield chiefs are looking to recoup most of that fee.
Liverpool fans, we want to hear from you! Should Klopp give Benteke a chance next season? Or is it best that he cuts his losses and goes elsewhere? Let us know in the comments below…
