Since returning from Basel, the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern really don’t want to talk about what happened in the Europa League final.
Though the other punters propping up the bar tonight are probing them with grins on their faces, the Reds are trying their best to look forward to an exciting summer with Jurgen Klopp at the helm.
Aside from the other night, the German tactician is helping the supporters forget all about the latter stages of Brendan Rodgers’ reign, which were quite frankly terrible.
Major squad changes are expected over the summer as the former Borussia Dortmund bids to craft a squad in his own image.
Now, according to the Daily Mirror, £20m winger Lazar Markovic could be the latest big name victim to Klopp’s overhaul.
The 22-year old was a big money arrival from Benfica following the seismic sale of Luis Suarez in 2014, though largely failed to convince at all last year.
He was loaned to Turkish giants Fenerbahce over the course of the summer, though the lack of wide options may have led some supporters to believe the Serbian could have a place in the squad next term.
However, Dave Maddock at the Mirror has claimed in his Q&A section the former Benfica man could be sold.
Should Markovic be kept on another season at least?
