It’s been a strange season for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern to watch. While they’ve enjoyed their side looking thoroughly formidable at times, the turn of the year seemingly brought bad tidings to Anfield.
The Reds are either lauded of lambasted for their heavy metal brand of football, with many of punters believing it is just as much a reason for their success as it is in the deficiencies so evident in their squad. At the heart of such an expansive system is obviously the presence of Jurgen Klopp.
The German has been hailed as the club’s saviour by some of our punters, though reports from the Daily Record have caused a bit of a concern amongst the Merseyside locals. A source talking to the publication has offered up some insight on the players’ reaction to the demanding regime under his watch.
“The lads are depressed with it,” says the source.
“Players with young kids wake up early with them, hang around all day, then get home late without seeing their kids again. Players without kids stay in bed until lunchtime, train, then stay up late at night.”
Klopp reportedly has his players training on game days, though that apparently isn’t the most popular system at Melwood. While the fans in the bar can see it may be demanding, they just hope the former Borussia Dortmund coach does what it takes to win.
Should Klopp lesser his demands? Let us know below…
