Liverpool punters in the Transfer Tavern are having a few ales with the landlord and discussing potential summer targets, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly keen on signing a winger in the next transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool have already shortlisted Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Julian Brandt, who has bagged two goals and six assists in 21 Bundesliga appearances this term.
The 20-year-old has also impressed in the Champions League but that could well spell trouble for the Reds; The Mail claim a scout from Spanish giants Real Madrid watched him in action against Atletico Madrid last night.
Bayer suffered a hefty 4-2 defeat at home, essentially handing the Mattress Makers a place in the next round, but Brandt impressed, creating the most chances (3) and completing the second-most dribbles (7) of any player on the pitch.
It’s claimed Liverpool could now face competition from Los Blancos for the German international’s signature but fortunately, he’s not the only option on Jurgen Klopp’s radar.
It’s further added that Leicester City’s Demarai Gray is also on Klopp’s shortlist of potential summer recruits, suggesting he’s keen to sign a pacey wide-man – perhaps as a consequence of Liverpool’s struggles during Sadio Mane’s absence when he left for AFCON 2017 in January.
The former Birmingham City youngster has been made to wait for his opportunities at the King Power Stadium, but demonstrated enormous potential when given the chance.
