Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait to see how their side gets on this season as they aim for the Premier League title.
The Reds are looking in fairly good shape going into the new campaign with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah all able to produce the goods in key games.
For sure, though, the club cannot afford to get rid of any of their top players and it seems as though their resistance to keeping them is going to be tested before the end of the summer window.
Indeed, according to Gazzetta dello Sport – via Talksport, Juventus are planning one more last ditch attempt to try and sign top midfielder Emre Can before the end of the window.
The German international is yet to sign a new deal with the club and his contract is entering its final year so the Reds would surely like to try and seal an extension instead of letting him go to the Italian champions.
Liverpool have a good squad but it is still a little small and that could really put their title challenge into the mire at points this season.
For sure, then, they need to keep their best players for the new campaign and letting Can go – a player who will feature in most games – would be a real backwards step, though it’s unlikely that it will happen.
