After reaching the Champions League final last season, losing out to Spanish giants Real Madrid, things certainly seem on the up for Liverpool. However, Klopp must not underestimate West Ham United, who his Liverpool side face on the opening day.

The Irons have heavily strengthened in this transfer window. The East London side have wasted no time in this transfer window. Jack Wilshere has joined up the Hammers, and has been followed by a host of talented players. Indeed, they have signed the likes of winger Andriy Yarmolenko, and Felipe Anderson has joined for a club record fee.

The quality and volume of additions made by West Ham means they will certainly be no pushovers. The 6ft 4 Issa Diop is a tremendous athlete, as well as a talented footballer. Getting past the West Ham defence will be no simple task, even for players the standard of Mohamed Salah.

West Ham will travel to Anfield looking to prove themselves and make things difficult for Klopp's Liverpool. Klopp will need to find a way of controlling the game, and not letting West Ham break up the play too much.

With that in mind, Klopp needs to make sure these two stars join up before they face West Ham...

If you're looking to control a game, Aaron Ramsey is the man who can do it for you. The Welsh international has just twelve months remaining on his Arsenal contract. According to the Daily Record podcast (via the Daily Express), Liverpool are interested in signing the midfielder.

Given the injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, this deal is perhaps looking more likely.

Ramsey adds the threat of goals from midfield and will get forward when he can, but his main benefit against West Ham is he will help the Anfield outfit dominate possession and break down their opponents.

Klopp should be desperate to get this deal over the line.

Klopp reportedly believes Liverpool have the funds to bring in Fekir.

Fekir is a crucial player for Lyon in the French top flight. The skilful attacking talent would really put the West Ham defence under pressure, and his movement would stretch the West Ham back-line and create space for the likes of Mo Salah to exploit.

Fekir scored 18 League goals in 29 appearances last season, showing his eye for goal. He could be the difference against West Ham on the opening weekend.
