Now the season is over and the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern can relax, the resident Reds aren’t as concerned about injury news.
While a few weeks ago reports from the Daily Telegraph would have caused panic on the streets of Merseyside, many of the local Kopites are barely even surprised anymore.
The report reveals that striker Daniel Sturridge is a major doubt for England’s upcoming games with Scotland and France as the result of his hip problem.
Though the 27-year-old helped his side qualify for the Champions League, his injury reportedly required special management by the club’s medical staff.
With that said, he is reportedly due to discuss his fitness with Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate in the build-up to his next games.
England travel to Hampden Park on June 10th and face France in Paris only three days later and, at this stage, it’s thought Sturridge is a major doubt.
With our local Liverpool fans unsure as to whether they’ll see him at Anfield next summer, many of them can’t say they’re surprised about these latest reports.
