Liverpool’s 2017 capture of Robertson should force them into swoop for £5.4m-rated ace

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing with their early business in the transfer market following their heartbreak in the Champions League final.

The Reds were defeated in the final by Real Madrid after some fantastic European trips on the road to Ukraine. Jurgen Klopp secured Champions League football at Anfield again next year following a fourth-place finish in the Premier League. Klopp’s summer recruitment drive is in full flow after he acquired the services of Monaco midfielder, Fabinho, for £40m.

Lyon attacker, Nabil Fekir, is expected to follow in Fabinho’s footsteps and swap Ligue 1 for the Premier League if the Reds can agree on a valuation with Lyon. With Klopp eager to bolster his forward line, the German is also expected to make a move for Gent winger – Moses Simon – according to the Liverpool Echo.

A move for the Nigerian international would be a smart piece of business. The Reds are in desperate need of depth in attack with little quality on offer in the wide department when Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane are missing. Simon has bags of pace and can play right across the forward line making him the perfect addition to the squad.

The 22-year-old netted five goals in 20 Belgian Pro League appearances last season and is worth £5.4m according to Transfermarkt. Extremely confident on either foot, Simon could prove to be a fantastic signing.

He would be available for around £10m, allowing other funds to be invested elsewhere. He may not be the big name signing that our punters were expecting, but no eyebrows were raised when Andrew Robertson was signed from Hull and look how his career panned out at Anfield. Under Klopp’s tutelage, he could prove to be an excellent transfer.
