Liverpool absolutely have to take a gamble on £13.5m-rated Italian pass master to partner Keita

Liverpool fans here at the Transfer Tavern are hoping that their team can continue to strengthen ahead of next season so that winning the Premier League will no longer be a figure of the imagination.

With Bundesliga star Naby Keita already set for a move to Anfield this summer, fans around us at the bar are optimistic that the transfer dealings won’t end there.

We believe that the Reds should delve into the market again, this time for Bryan Cristante, who is valued at £13.50 million on Transfermarkt. The 23-year-old central midfielder has been a revelation whilst on-loan from Benfica in the Serie A, having played in 36 games and during the course of those fixtures, scoring 10 goals and assisting two for his team-mates.

Naby Keita and Bryan Cristante would be sure to form a formidable midfield partnership, with Emre Can’s future continuing to look uncertain and Jordan Henderson losing game time.

The Reds will be no stranger to Cristante either, as he was the man to score three goals past Everton during the Europa League group-stages when Atlanta eased passed the Merseyside rivals. A goalscoring midfielder would be the perfect addition at Anfield and could even go some way to replacing Philippe Coutinho as Cristante has the ability to play as an attacking midfielder.

Bryan Cristante is still technically a Benfica player and will return there when the Serie A season finishes in June. However, Cristante is surely unlikely to stay in Portugal amid apparent interest from a number of teams from around the world wanting his signature.

The Liverpool fans here are in high spirits and the more quality players they bring to Anfield this summer, the better. It will all mount to a more substantial push for the Premier League title next season, which the Reds are hopeful of doing having built on their squad well recently.
