In the Transfer Tavern, it’s quite often you’ll find both the Liverpool and Everton fans propping up the bar at each other’s throats at the best of times.
Such is the nature of their rivalry, the Reds are rarely sweet on the Toffees and vice-versa, though it’s going well for both teams this season under their popular new managers.
Jurgen Klopp and Ronald Koeman have looked like huge upgrades on Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez respectively and their first Merseyside derby on 19th December is a hugely awaited event.
However, according to Belgian outlet Le Vif, it may not be the only battle the two contest in future weeks.
They’ve claimed both clubs are keen on Soualiho Meïté, whose impressive form for Zulte Waregem has helped lead them to the summit of the Jupiler Pro League.
Currently on loan at the club from Lille, the 22-year-old is set to make his move a permanent one in April thanks to a pre-arranged clause and the Belgian outfit could well make a quick-fire profit on him.
