Liverpool and Spurs pushing ahead in colossal race for £25m German (not Gotze)

Mario Gotze’s name has been furiously debated between both the Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern for much of the summer, with both titans of English football linked with moves for the playmaker.

Still, such is the rather hipster nature of both the Reds and Spurs these days, it appears their Bundesliga moves won’t be quite as obvious as trying to land a World Cup winning hero.

According to Bildneither side have been put off Cologne’s £25m asking price for left-back Jonas Hector this summer.

The 26-year old has emerged as one of the most formidable stars in a berth not flooded with top options, making him a hot commodity in the market this summer.

Jurgen Klopp at Anfield particularly is said to be in hunt for a new left-back, with Alberto Moreno failing to wholly convince when tasked with the most basic of defensive duties.

Is Hector really worth £25m?
