Liverpool and West Ham dealt blow over deal for £2.1m rated playmaker

Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are still on a high after they watched their side demolish Arsenal on the weekend, however, it’s not all good news as they look set to miss out on a top summer target.

According to reports from Ouest France, Real Madrid attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard is on the verge of a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side, Stade Rennais, despite interest from the Premier League.

The 17-year-old was a target for Klopp’s side who have been loading up on attacking midfielders once again this summer.

As well as this the Norwegian international was also linked with a move to London with Slaven Bilic eyeing up a deal to bring the youngster to West Ham.

Reports from Spanish newspaper, AS, the final decision on the switch to France was made by Galacticos boss, Zinedine Zidane, who elected to send the playmaker, valued at £2.1m, the French outfit as opposed to England.

Liverpool fans, what do you make of this? Is it disappointing to lose out on the youngster? How big of a role would he have played in your side? Let us know in the comments below…
