It’s easy to forget that Mario Balotelli is still under contract at Liverpool, such is the nature of the Italian’s fall from grace over the past few seasons.
In fact, the Reds propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern often forget about his existence entirely.
Still, amid Jurgen Klopp’s exciting Anfield overhaul, it’s crystal clear that the Italian international must be sold in order to further rid the squad of deadwood.
However, that is reportedly approving increasingly difficult.
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik (via Gazzetta World), Besiktas are keen on the 25-year old this summer as they bid to find a prolific replacement for Mario Gomez.
He is currently thought to rake in around €5.5m a year, which is far more than the Turkish champions are willing to pay, though could attempt to structure a payment plan with the Merseyside giants.
