Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern will be raising a glass this evening to toast the end of an era at Anfield as they look set to bid farewell to a long-serving Red.
According to reports from Turkey, The Reds and Galatasaray have agreed a fee for a deal to take midfielder stalwart Lucas Leiva to the Turkish giants.
Turkish Football are reporting that a €2.5m fee has been agreed and that talks over personal terms between the Istanbul outfit and the Brazilian are in advanced stages, with only a few details remaining to be sealed.
The 29-year-old is set to join on a three-year-deal which will see him earn a reported €2.7m a year, not too shabby I guess.
The defensive midfielder joined Liverpool on 2007 and has gone on to make a whopping 315 appearances, bagging himself six goals and a League Cup along the way.
Liverpool fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of Lucas leaving? Does he still have a role to play in Jurgen Klopp’s side, or is it best he moves on? Let us know below…
