“You talk about how good Griezmann would be linking up with Messi and Barcelona, what about with Liverpool’s front three?”

Those were the words of ESPN pundit Craig Burley via the Daily Express when asked which team should Antoine Griezmann join after the French superstar announced he was leaving Atletico Madrid this summer.

The reports all link to the 28-year-old striker heading to Barcelona, who have been interested in the attacker for some time, but that doesn’t mean it’s a done deal, and with Liverpool finishing runners up in the Premier League and making it to another Champions League football, the ambition is there for Griezmann to make a surprising move to Merseyside, and a deal would be massive.

The Atletico attacker making the move to Liverpool would top Mohamed Salah’s transfer to the Reds two years ago in a reported £34 million deal that has seen the Egyptian become one of the best wingers in world football.

At Liverpool, Griezmann would elevate the team to a whole new level due to his lethal finishing and ability to play across the attacking three as well as an attacking midfielder, something manager Jurgen Klopp will find useful and allowing the French World Cup winner to play regularly.

Griezmann arriving on Merseyside would also be a massive sign of intent from both Liverpool and FSG, as the Atletico star would be sure to cost a club-record fee as well as attract a whole wave of new fans across the world due the popularity and reputation the striker has in world football.

Very few players have the quality to improve Liverpool’s attacking trident, but Griezmann is one of those names.

Liverpool fans, would you take Griezmann this season? Let us know!
