After conquering their German counterparts in the most sensational of circumstances, Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are now cursing Borussia Dortmund.
That’s because, according to Bild, the club could make a firm move for reported Reds target Mario Gotze.
The German playmaker enjoys a strong relationship with Jurgen Klopp during their time together at Signal Iduna Park and is believed to be unhappy at Bayern Munich.
Despite his World Cup winning exploits, the 23-year old has been used infrequently in Bavaria by Pep Guardiola and is thought to be a major target at Anfield.
However, Dortmund could now scupper any plans to lure him to Merseyside by initiating a swap deal with Mats Hummels going the other way.
The defender was widely linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, though is said to be open to the prospect of moving back to the Allianz Arena this summer.
He left the club as a teenager back in 2008 and went on to establish himself as one of the top defenders in the world.
Where would Gotze even fit in at Anfield?
