Liverpool: Don Hutchison says Liverpool’s defence doesn’t look good at the moment - Liverpool

Dun Hutchison joined BBC’s Football Daily podcast and talked about Liverpool’s recent defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup and highlighted a big concern for Jurgen Klopp.

In a rather surprising turn of events, Liverpool have somewhat dipped in form, registering three defeats in their last four games across all competitions, with the latest one meaning elimination from the FA Cup.

And Hutchison believes they have some big issues in the back at the moment, as their defence looked rather shaky against the Blues and that has to be a worrying sign for Klopp.

Here’s what he said on BBC’s Football Daily podcast (4/3/2020): “The back five tonight and Neco Williams had some chances early on when he had the ball in the right-hand side, he put some brilliant balls in the box but Joe Gomez, Van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Adrian the goalkeeper didn’t have good games. That’s the worry.”

Despite having more of the ball, Liverpool’s defence really was under fire for the majority of the clash with Chelsea, as was evident in the Blues leading the way in both shots on target and big chances on the night, as per SofaScore’s data.

And as the former Liverpool midfielder has said on the podcast, their backline was looking quite shaky and couldn’t cope with the west London club’s attack.

They have been brilliant all season long but now is really not the time to let the foot off the gas pedal as there are still some big games to be played before the season ends.

Liverpool fans, do you agree with Hutchison’s verdict on your backline? Do you also think they were not good enough? Let us know in the comments down below!
