Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are divided over the club’s treatment of centre-half Mamadou Sakho, who moved to Crystal Palace on loan in January.
The powerful defender fell out with Reds gaffer Jurgen Klopp last summer and after failing to make a single Premier League appearance in the first half of the season signed for the Eagles in the last transfer window.
But Sakho has been nothing short of phenomenal since making the Selhurst Park switch, helping Sam Allardyce’s side claim four clean sheets in seven Premier League outings to move themselves seven points clear of the relegation zone.
That’s lead some Liverpool punters in the Tavern to question whether Klopp should have given the 28-cap France international another chance – especially considering the Reds have conceded the most goals of any side in the Premier League’s top seven this term.
But according to Sky Sports, although Liverpool could seek compensation for what has now proved to be an undeserved drugs ban, Sakho has no future at Anfield and will be moved on this summer, with the Merseysiders pricing him at the £30million mark.
They’re confident of obtaining that fee after Sevilla showed a willingness to pay £20million in January, considering Sakho’s impressive form for Palace, but the Tavern’s Eagles regulars reckon that’s a little too steep – bearing in mind Klopp is actively looking to move the 27-year-old on.
