Liverpool extended their lead on champions Manchester City to 11 points after their 2-1 win against Brighton on Saturday afternoon. If they’re to keep their unbeaten run going through Christmas, they’ll need to use all their squad to prevent the main men getting tired.
Xherdan Shaqiri has made just two substitute appearances this season despite scoring six and assisting three in 11 starts last term. He seems to be behind Adam Lallana in the pecking order, with the Englishman making five substitute appearances and one start this season. He has only one goal contribution, though, to show for it.
At 2-0 up on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp chose to take off Mohamed Salah and replace him with Adam Lallana rather than Shaqiri, and many Liverpool fans were angry with the decision. The club’s official Twitter account posted the news of the change and a lot of fans in the replies were critical of the decision.
68′ – Our first change, as Salah is replaced by Lallana.

Liverpool fans, who would you rather have replaced Mohamed Salah, Adam Lallana or Xherdan Shaqiri?
