Liverpool supporters have been reasonably satisfied in recent times despite seeing their side’s 100% start to the Premier League season come to an end on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their meeting with in-form Chelsea having won each of their opening six league games of the season, yet just a few days earlier having tasted defeat to Maurizio Sarri’s side in the Carabao Cup. And the Reds looked on course for successive defeats when Eden Hazard gave the hosts the lead at Stamford Bridge, only for Daniel Sturridge to produce a moment of brilliance in added time to secure a 1-1 draw for the visitors, a result which saw them slip to second place in the Premier League behind champions Manchester City.

Nonetheless, there have been many satisfied Liverpudlians up and down the country in recent times, several of whom have taken to Twitter in recent times to comment on the future of Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, with many believing that their side should go after the Wales international.

And with his contract up at the end of the season, those Liverpool fans are absolutely right to suggest Klopp should seek to land the 27-year-old, as the addition of the £110,000-a-week ace (as per Spotrac) could prove to be a masterstroke.

Ultimately, reports surfaced last week suggesting that there was no new contract offer on the table for Ramsey at the Emirates Stadium, thus suggesting that the midfielder will be on his way out of the club come the summer on a free transfer.

Yet this all comes after the 27-year-old won the club’s Player of the Season award back in May after his mightily impressive season in North London, in which the Welshman scored 11 goals and laid on 12 assists to help the club to a sixth place finish in the Premier League table, and indeed the last four of the Europa League.

And with a few other campaigns in which Ramsey has reached double figures in terms of goals, it’s clear that he has genuine pedigree at Premier League level and as such could be a huge asset to several sides in the top tier, not least a Liverpool team seeking to mount title challenges for the next few years.

Manager Klopp added Naby Keita and Fabinho to his squad during the summer in a bid to bolster his midfield ranks, and while the former has performed solidly so far, the latter endured a very testing debut against Chelsea in the week to suggest that he still has some way to go before being at the level required.

And with Adam Lallana’s injury troubles clearly restricting him in the last few years, alongside the long-term absence of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Klopp could well eye up further strength in that midfield area - strength Ramsey would certainly bring.

The 27-year-old has played in a more central, deeper role during his time at Arsenal as well as out wide and indeed in the number ten position behind the front man, thus underlining his capabilities to do whatever job is asked of him in the team.

Above all though, the Wales star would bring even greater quality in the ball in the final third of the pitch, and in a Liverpool side seeking to go on and win major honours in the coming years under Klopp, he could be an asset - leaving Arsenal has done Oxlade-Chamberlain the world of good, it could prove to be similar for Ramsey.

And if the 27-year-old can more consistency produce his best form under Klopp at Anfield, the Reds would have certainly pulled off a transfer masterstroke by bringing him to Merseyside.
