Rangers winger Ryan Kent took a swipe at former club Liverpool by claiming he was “lied to” about his future at the Anfield club before moving to Glasgow permanently earlier this month.
Sky Sports reported that the 22-year-old said he had to train on his own after the Reds concluded their pre-season programme, with Liverpool initially refusing to countenance a second Ibrox loan move for Kent after his time there last season, and the article was shared on Twitter by @SkySportsPL.

Kent told Sky Sports: “When you are told you can do one thing and then you are lied to and it doesn’t happen, that is quite hard to take.”
He added: “For once in my life to be feeling at home somewhere, to be actually enjoying my football, I want that feeling for the rest of my career.” [via Sky Sports]
Subsequently, the Daily Record claimed that the winger was prepared to down tools to try and force through a move to Glasgow.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter weren’t exactly sympathetic with Kent following his comments about his former club:
He lied to us about his potential

Seems to be a few players thinking they walk into this liverpool squad without having to prove anything. Youth players are getting contracts that are way above their ability and not earning their place

What did he genuinely expect? To start over Mané?

Player who’s nowhere near good enough gets shipped out. Club refuses to accept loan and demands permanent deal. The end.
