CEO of Liverpool FC Peter Moore has announced that Anfield’s match day staff will be volunteering to help out at local supermarkets amid the crisis of recent events.
Supermarkets are currently overrun with worried customers and panic buyers following more news updates surrounding current affairs. Moore has confirmed that the club’s stadium stewards are now offering to volunteer their time help the big chains out since the Premier League is currently suspended until June 1 (via Daily Mail).
Being well-trained in crowd control, the Anfield staff will be helping quieten down the bustle in the supermarkets as well as control parking and assist the elderly with their shopping to their cars.
“They are truly the best in the business,” Moore wrote in his most recent tweet. “And would be delighted to help in whatever way you would deem appropriate (and safe) on your premises.”
Liverpool fans are bursting with pride at the announcement and are delighted to know that their club is doing something helpful and wholesome for the community during such a difficult and worrying time.
