Liverpool fans can’t agree on whether their side should sign £16.2m-rated ace this summer

Liverpool supporters have been making a lot of noise in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their side return to third place in the Premier League table courtesy of a 5-0 thrashing of Watford on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were the only team in the top eight of the division to feature in the league over the weekend due to FA Cup commitments, and they took full advantage to open up a seven-point lead over fifth place Chelsea. And Mohamed Salah was again the star of the show with four goals in the rout, with in-form Roberto Firmino adding the other to secure a comprehensive victory for the Merseyside giants, thus moving them above Tottenham into third place in the Premier League table with seven games of the campaign remaining.

Consequently, there have been many upbeat and joyous Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are eagerly anticipating the run-in given that their side remain in the Champions League, and look set for another top four finish in the league.

In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Reds fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports linking them with a move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The 26-year-old came up through the ranks at the North London giants and has since gone on to appear 191 times for the club, although that figure would be substantially higher were it not for recurrent injury setbacks.

And reports suggest that the England international could leave the Emirates Stadium at the expiration of his contract this summer given the club’s firm stance on negotiations, and Klopp’s Liverpool are one side reported to hold an interest in the talented midfielder.

And this news has unsurprisingly stimulated quite a response from Reds supporters on Twitter, with it fair to say that they cannot agree on whether their side should land the £16.2 million-rated ace (as per Transfermarkt) this summer…
