Liverpool: Fans delighted to see Alisson back in training

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is closing in on a return to first-team action and he could even start against Manchester United (per the Guardian) at the weekend.

The Brazilian shot-stopper has been out of action with a calf injury which he picked up in the Reds first game of the season against Norwich City.

Adrian has filled in for him in his absence, and has done a sterling job in helping the Merseyside club win all eight of their Premier League matches and moving clear at the top of the table. He also played his part in the Reds winning the UEFA Super Cup, saving Tammy Abraham’s penalty in the shootout to secure the trophy.

However, Alisson (given his price tag in 2018) is surely the undisputed number one at Anfield and when fit should be selected in Jurgen Klopp’s starting 11 considering the impact he made last season.

It looks like he will be available for their game at Old Trafford, after coming through a tailored training plan over the international break unscathed.

Liverpool’s official Twitter account has now teased the return of the Brazilian, by posting an image of him kitted out and ready for training.

Naturally, most Reds fans are excited to see the former Roma man back involved which was easy to see when looking at what they were saying on Twitter. The majority want him to play against Manchester United, whilst some also reserved praise for Adrian too…
