Liverpool: Fans disappointed to see Ryan Kent leaving for Rangers

Rangers completed the permanent signing of winger Ryan Kent from Liverpool yesterday, having had the player on loan from the Reds last season.

Liverpool’s official Twitter account @LFC confirmed the news of the 22-year-old’s permanent departure from Anfield late last night after the deal was completed.

Kent made his debut for Liverpool’s first team in an FA Cup tie at Exeter in January 2016 but that was his only senior competitive appearance for the Reds, despite getting game time in five pre-season friendlies this summer.

He had no fewer than five loan moves away from Anfield, going to Coventry, Barnsley, Freiburg, Bristol City and Rangers.

He impressed at Ibrox in 2018/19, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 43 appearances, as well as being named PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year and making it into the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter seemed disappointed at Kent’s departure from the club:

Should Liverpool have given Kent a fairer chance or was the time right for him to cut his ties with the Reds? Join in the discussion by commenting below!
