While Liverpool's decision not to sign anyone of note last summer does look to have paid off given their impressive lead in the Premier League this season, it'll certainly be interesting to see as to whether or not they adopt the same approach in a few months time.

Indeed, with the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham seemingly struggling to match their previous exploits after relatively inactive windows over the last few years, perhaps the Reds should consider making some changes to keep things fresh in the years to come.

With that in mind, head of football at Sport Bild Christian Falk has reported that the Reds are interested in signing Kai Havertz. In fact, he says there’s Liverpool, Bayern Munich and one unnamed Italian club in the race to buy the Bayer Leverkusen forward, who’s been priced at €125m (£105.1m) when he was linked with Liverpool earlier this month.

As noted on WhoScored, he’s capable of playing in the centre and on the right in either an attacking midfield or more forward role, showing the type of versatility that leads one fan to believe he could be Roberto Firmino's eventual successor. Fans saw the tweet by Falk and they were quick to reply to show how excited they were that a bid from Liverpool could be on the way for the 20-year-oid.
