Liverpool: Fans fume over Alan Shearer’s latest comments

Amid the recent events that have forced the Premier League to suspend the current campaign, Alan Shearer has spoken out about the outcome of the season potentially being made null and void.
Despite Liverpool sitting extremely pretty at the top of the Premier League table with a 25-point cushion, former Newcastle icon hero Shearer has stated that he doesn’t think it will be fair to award the Reds the title if the season is forced to be voided (the Sun via Metro).
“If, and a huge if, the season cannot be completed then there is no way you can have a winner or a loser,” the ex-Newcastle striker said. “For Liverpool, it would be incredibly harsh. But I cannot see how it would be fair to hand them the title.”
Jurgen Klopp’s men need just six more points in order to mathematically clinch their first-ever Premier League trophy and first title win in 30 years. However, the uncertainty surrounding the rest of the season could mean there will be no rescheduled games, though nothing is yet clear.
Interestingly, Michael Owen suggested earlier this season (September 2019, via talkSPORT) that the former England captain was once keen on moving to Anfield during Sir Bobby Robson’s time in charge of the Magpies.
Will Liverpool be awarded the 2019-20 Premier League title?
Yes

No

Shearer thinks this would be the best option and Liverpool fans are furious, with one supporter stating he is ‘talking nonsense as per’.

Nobody’s ‘handing’ @LFC the title Alan, at 25 points & with just 9 games to play, the league is won all bar the shouting.

If it was a case of 10 points it wud make sense but Liverpool are clear champions. We will be robbed if we are not given the title
