Liverpool: Fans heap praise on Isaac Christie-Davies

The dust has settled on Liverpool’s Carabao Cup defeat to Aston Villa and the Anfield faithful have a whole bunch of rarely-seen youngsters to dissect and discuss, with former Cheslea youngster Isaac Christie-Davies drawing plenty of praise.
With Jurgen Klopp and the entire Liverpool first-team away in Doha for the Club World Cup, the chances of Neil Critchley’s young Reds side getting past Villa on Tuesday night were slim.
And while the result went exactly as expected, Critchley’s starlets actually put in an impressive performance, and were perhaps unlucky to lose 5-0.
Jonathan Kodjia was the star of the show for the home side while Harvey Elliott shone for the visitors, but Christie-Davies shone as well.
The 22 year-old, who arrived from Chelsea’s youth set-up in 2018, has played five times for the Under-23s this season, scoring once and providing two assists.
Per Sofascore, he made two tackles vs Villa, as well as completing 85% of his passes, including three key passes, while also making one successful dribble.
Take a look at some of the best Twitter reactions down below, where one fan even went so far as to compare him to Steven Gerrard…
Aside from Elliott, the other player that stood out for me was Christie-Davies. Looked composed on the ball and had a good eye for a pass

Decent. But the one who stood out and reminded me of a raw Gerrard was 57 Christie-Davies

Elliot wasn’t a surprise, he’s top class and will be a very good player, Christie-Davies was the one I was impressed by

Christie-Davies been amazing. Going to be some player.
A loan next season and I reckon he may force himself into the first team setup. #LFC
