Liverpool: Fans heap praise on Ki-Jana Hoever despite heavy defeat vs Aston Villa

Liverpool fans heaped praise on the young Dutch defender Ki-Jana Hoever for his performance during his side’s 5-0 defeat against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
The Reds were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the quarter-final stage, playing a side which had an average age of 19 years, six months and three days.
Was Klopp right to play the kids vs Aston Villa?
Yes

No

This came after Jurgen Klopp’s side were scheduled to play two games in two consecutive days, following the club’s participation in the Club World Cup in Qatar.
As a result, Liverpool fielded a young and inexperienced side for the domestic cup tie due to the senior players making the trip to the Middle East.
Hoever, 17, was one of those young players that was included in Neil Critchley’s squad and impressed the Kop faithful. He completed two interceptions, one tackle and had a pass success rate of 71% (via SofaScore).
Supporters credited the performance of Hoever and were feeling optimistic about his future, making their feelings clear on the youngster on social media.

I think Hoever is the one, long term centre half? Kid looks fantastic, has everything a CB would need.

Yes, genuinely Brewster would have buried the chances we have in the games. Gutted for both him and Jones for missing out. Keep an eye out on Hoever also in defense. Looks a talent.

Elliott super touch and great vision. Hoever very promising too, covered huge amount of ground.

Not bothered by Liverpool going out in the League Cup. Kids got that taste of big-time experience, may it drive them on to bigger things. Harvey Elliott and Ki-Jana Hoever might be the realest of deals eventually.
