Liverpool: Fans’ heartstrings pulled by moving club video with Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool fans have reacted to an emotional club video which shows defender Virgil van Dijk surprising a lifelong Red at work and showing him around the club’s training facilities.

David Lyons, a supporter who works in ASDA, got the surprise of his life when the £75m centre back approached him in the car park and whisked him off for a VIP tour of Melwood and to meet the players.

David was stunned when Van Dijk came up to him and asked him for £1 for a trolley. When the Dutchman told David to go with him, he said that he could not leave work.

Supporters were left feeling emotional after watching the footage and made their feelings clear on social media.
