Ahead of tonight’s Merseyside derby at Anfield, Liverpool’s official Twitter channel @LFC took the opportunity to remind Reds fans of a memorable derby win from six seasons ago.
A very memorable 4-0 derby day win 🙌

In January 2014, Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side romped to a 4-0 home win against Everton, with the highlights of the game posted by @LFC on Twitter yesterday.
Steven Gerrard opened the scoring on 21 minutes with a header from a corner and the lead was stretched further by two goals in as many minutes from Daniel Sturridge just past the half-hour, chipping Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard twice to leave Liverpool in firm control at the interval. [via BBC]
A breakaway goal from Luis Suarez early in the second half rounded off the scoring and there was still time for Sturridge to blow his chance of a hat-trick by firing a penalty over the bar. [via BBC]
That type of comprehensive win has been missing for Liverpool this season, with the Reds not scoring four in the league since the opening day and failing to keep a clean sheet since September. [via TransferMarkt]
These Liverpool fans on Twitter are hoping that Jurgen Klopp’s side can summon a repeat of the one-sided affair at Anfield from 2014:
Same again tomorrow yeah?
