Many Liverpool fans are hoping that captain Jordan Henderson can repeat one of his finer goals for the club this weekend.
The Reds play host to Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League tomorrow and, ahead of that game, Liverpool’s official Twitter channel @LFC dug into the archives.
They tweeted a clip of Henderson’s 20-yard strike against City in a 2-1 win at Anfield from the 2014/15 season, the current skipper deftly curling the ball into the top corner of the visitors’ net.
The 29-year-old scored in Liverpool’s most recent Premier League game at their home venue, netting the equaliser as the Reds came from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 two weeks ago. It took his overall tally for the club to 26.
So far, that goal in March 2015 is the only one that Henderson has scored in 17 games for Liverpool against Manchester City (as per TransferMarkt), but these Liverpool fans on Twitter are hopeful that he can repeat the trick if he features at Anfield tomorrow:
