It was possibly the perfect weekend for Liverpool this weekend, who secured a vital 2-1 win against Leicester City on Saturday.
Will Liverpool win the Premier League title this season?
The Reds were given a stern test by the Foxes and needed a 95th minute penalty from James Milner to take all three points.
Ultimately they did manage to win, and that combined with Manchester City’s surprise 2-0 defeat against Wolves means that Jurgen Klopp’s side now sit eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Sadio Mane played a key role in the Reds’ victory. The Senegal international winger scored the opening goal of the game and was also the man fouled by Marc Albrighton at the death which led to the penalty.
However, it was another moment of his in the game which had many Reds fans showering him with praise on social media.
The official Liverpool Twitter account posted a clip of Mane producing an excellent sliding tackle on Ben Chilwell which stopped the Leicester full-back from entering the penalty area.
Tackling is not something you would normally associate with Mane, but this one was brilliant and prevented the Foxes from creating a goalscoring opportunity.
Plenty of Liverpool fans absolutely loved the commitment from the former Southampton winger and were full of praise for him after the game. Here is what some of them have been saying…

World class footballer, not just going forward. Underrated understanding work ethic and reading of the game.

This is the difference right here….under Klopp it doesn’t matter if you’re a defender or a striker, what reputation you’ve got or what money you earn….you ALL put a shift in! 👏👏👏
