The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been ripping into former Sky Sports presenter, Richard Keys after he claimed that Salah should get rid of his number 11 shirt and take James Milner’s number seven next season as the number seven shirt is “for legends.”
One thing Liverpool must do next season – give Salah that No.7 jersey. Sorry James – it’s for legends!
— Richard Keys (@richardajkeys) March 19, 2018
The local Reds propping our bar up certainly like the idea of Mohamed Salah sticking around and becoming a legend at Anfield. Although they’ve taken a swipe at Keys for claiming he should take the number seven shirt. Fans of the club have warmed to James Milner donning the shirt previously worn by Kenny Dalglish and Luis Suarez and are currently loving life watching their number 11, Mo Salah, dominate the Premier League’s goal-scoring table.
Mo Salah is just a third of Liverpool’s deadly attack as his partners in crime, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have also been tearing up Premier League defences this campaign. The Anfield club’s three-pronged attack has scored a whopping 50 Premier League goals between them so far this campaign, although Salah has 28 of those. Salah’s almost inhuman personal tally of 28 league goals in just 31 games has the forward set to break the record of most goals ever in a Premier League season, putting him in a bracket with players like Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer and Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Here’s what the Liverpool fans make of Richard Keys’ comments:
Nothing wrong with a Milner wearing the number 7

Labeling a player as a legend after less than one season shows how shortsighted a person is and we can extrapolate on his other judgments and predictions.

It’s a number why can he not just make number 11 a legend number

He chose the number 11 shirt specifically, Firmino wore it last season but changed to 9 this year so Salah could have it. And i love the bitter rivals. One minute he’s proved nothing, the next he’s off to Spain! Make your minds up #StayingPut #LegendInTheMaking

One thing you must do next season is not tip Everton to finish ahead of Liverpool.
