Most Liverpool fans would sell Loris Karius in a heartbeat. The German will always be known as the man who threw away the Champions League final and despite Jurgen Klopp’s attempts to give him a fresh start, it isn’t working. The calamity ‘keeper had another clanger yesterday against Tranmere in a friendly, and many fans would love to see Danny Ward given a chance in the first-team.
Analysis: Ward shows he's the safer pair of hands as Karius struggles, young Camacho shines and Lallana gets back up and running. #LFC https://t.co/ca2iyN6wWO

The goalkeeping situation at Anfield is a tough one.
The fans have no faith in either Simon Mignolet or Karius, and for good reason.
Some fans have been calling for Ward to be given a chance in the first-team for a long time now, and as it’s now become apparent that the club probably won’t be signing a new goalkeeper this window, the Welsh international could be given a run of games in front of the Kop this season.
Ward played the first 45 minutes yesterday in the Tranmere friendly and he looked calm and composed with the ball at his feet.
He may not have had much to do in his time on the pitch, but he looked like a goalkeeper worthy of playing for Liverpool and did make one save of note, a strong one-handed stop to deny James Norwood.
The second 45 minutes couldn’t have been more different as calamity Karius showed the fans exactly why they need a new shot-stopper with his awful blunder from a Tranmere free-kick.
You can see what the Reds’ have had to say about Ward here…
Ward is a very good GK

This sounds like the pre-cursor to a “we are going with Danny Ward as No.1”!! Better than Karius currently? Yep. Long term solution? Dunno about that

Hmmm I must be dreaming /p>— Kojo_teaspoon (@1realteaspoon) 11 July 2018
I would go with ward at the moment and get karius out of the firing line.

Danny Ward is long due a crack at the first team. Played international football and has very successful season on loan. Should certainly be ahead of Karius and at least level with Mignolet. But Karius is JK's man.

Ward did very well when playing for Aberdeen, why not give him a chance, can’t be much worse #LFC

all danny ward has shown is good goalkeeping when he’s gotten a chance to get between the pipes, and the dude almost single handedly promoted huddersfield to the prem. give him the chance to be the number 2 after we buy new GK…

It seems obvious to everyone except for Klopp that Ward needs to come in for Karius, and quickly.
