Liverpool fans don’t appear to be too worried about the news (as per the Daily Mail) that star player Mohamed Salah had to return to Merseyside after being substituted due to injury in Egypt’s 4-1 win over Swaziland on Friday evening.
The 26-year-old will miss the return-leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Swaziland on Tuesday, while he will be assessed by the club’s doctors this week ahead of the Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Salah got on the score-sheet for his country before half-time, emphatically finding the back of the net from a corner, before he came off in the final stages of the match with a muscle problem.
Reds fans have taken to Twitter since Friday’s match and although the injury doesn’t seem to be too serious, they think it might a good time to give the PFA Player of the Year some much-needed rest.
Here are some of the reactions by the club’s fans:
The one thing we would have hated to see at the start of the season

He needs rest. Keep him away for 3 games. Forget about his performance last season and concentrate on him getting back to fitness. I believe same should be accorded Roberto Firmino. Let the likes of Xerdan, Sturridge, Fabinho, Keita take up the mantle. Players need rest.

I really hope its not a bad injury

I guess if he start in second half for 30 mins in two consecutive game that will release the stress inside him and he will feel less presure and more thirsity to score.

Chance for Shaqiri.

I doubt he’ll play our next match. This man seriously needs a break.

Miss the next International game be nice and fresh for us

The international break is just so bloody pointless, I just don’t know why the internationals get scrapped during the league season and at the end of the season play the qualifiers for the international tournaments etc..

Blessing in disguise. Time off, reset, refocus, give Shaq or studge some game time and watch Salah come back stronger.. he has been quite poor so far this season. He will come good just needs a rest..
