Despite being handed an early exit out of the Champions League, Liverpool fans are praising the players that worked their socks off on Wednesday night under the Anfield lights. Captain Jordan Henderson is one individual receiving a lot of praise for his performance.
Ahead of the Champions League Round of 16 clash at Anfield, fans surely weren’t sure whether their skipper would feature for Liverpool, let alone start given his recent absence. Still, Henderson reportedly ramped up his rehab so he could play a part in a crucial European clash (via Daily Star).
Despite being out of action since February with a hamstring injury, the former Sunderland man played a total of 105 minutes for the Reds on Wednesday in an intensely physical and demanding match.
Fans have doffed their caps to the 29-year-old for the shift he delivered in the middle of the park. Many fans are complimenting the captain, describing his performance as ‘brilliant’ and ‘unbelievable’, while another supporter is talking about how ‘crucial’ he is to the team.
