Liverpool: Fans react as Melissa Reddy confirms Timo Werner interest in transfer update

Lots of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the latest news on Timo Werner, as Melissa Reddy delivered an update on the club’s interest in the Red Bull Leipzig star.
Many Reds fans were buzzing after @NicoSchira claimed the Anfield outfit are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Werner this summer, with the Italian journalist stating that they are ready to meet the Germany international’s €58m (£48.3m) release clause. However, Reddy, who is The Independent’s Senior Football Correspondent, has brought supporters back down to earth with a more realistic update, confirming that the Reds are indeed interested in the 23 year-old and have been for some time but they are not engaged in any serious talks right now.
Werner has shot to stardom in the Bundesliga over the past few years, racking up 70 league goals across the last four seasons, and Reddy claims there are concerns about how he would adjust to not being an automatic pick in Liverpool’s first XI. You can check out some of the best fan reactions to the news down below…
This kind of justification of ‘oh he won’t be a guaranteed starter so we wont sign him’ really gets on my nerves.
If that were the case the whole world would recruit a world class 11 and the rest of the squad would be Championship level.— THE UNBEARABLES (@Strictly_Scouse) February 17, 2020
60 games a season, 3 forwards per game.
If we rotated 4, they’d each get 45 full games. If we rotated 5, it would be 36.
That’s a lot of football, however you slice it.— Mark H (@MarkHeytch) February 17, 2020
A little over 2 years ago we had the fab 4. Surely Timo would play up top with Bobby behind and the 2 lads either side. Worked at treat when Phil was there. Could it be tried I wonder? 🤷🏻♂️

Perfect for Liverpool, I should start him over Salah

Should really be a no brainer imo. Lightening quick, skilful and scores goals. Looks a natural fit.

We will be without Mané, Salah, Keita for the ACOF. It’s not about blocking the pathway for youth. We have to be ready to go again. Jones & Elliot aren’t ready to start in the PL. we have to sign players that can come in and play at a high level. Lallana, Lovren also.
