Liverpool: Fans react to Emre Can’s omission from Juventus’ Champions League squad

The 32 clubs involved in the group stage of the Champions League submitted their squads for the competition before last night’s deadline.

Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can was also omitted from the list, as noted by Liverpool-focused Twitter channel @AnfieldWatch.

The 25-year-old Germany international spent four years at Anfield, scoring 14 goals in 167 appearances for the Reds, before leaving Merseyside to sign for Juventus last summer.

Can rejected a new contract at Liverpool during the 2017/18 season, saying that he wanted to emulate childhood idol Zinedine Zidane by playing for Juventus, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

However, having started only 22 Serie A and Champions League games for the Turin club last season and played just 30 minutes in the league so far this term, he has struggled to make an impact in Italy.
