Liverpool: Fans react to how Premier League table would look without VAR

Liverpool fans have responded with joy after a new statistic has revealed that their side would still be top of the table by seven points if VAR was not used during this season’s Premier League campaign.
The Video Assistant Referee has been a hot topic of discussion throughout the campaign after its introduction at the beginning of the season.
However, it has been met with many critics due to the length of time it’s taking for decisions to be made, and not overruling the on-field official’s original decisions at times.
This comes as the Reds’ 3-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday involved a Trent Alexander-Arnold handball early in the game which was missed by referee Michael Oliver and overlooked by the officials at Stockley Park.

We’ve developed an algorithm which takes into account many factors at the time of the VAR intervention, and recalculated the results.https://t.co/4pa2QT4UkC pic.twitter.com/rSiBDuP6B6

The ‘anti-VAR’ Premier League was presented by Dale Johnson of ESPN and he highlights that despite the Merseyside club’s good fortune, Jurgen Klopp’s side would still be on the same amount of points, and seven points clear of the Citizens instead of nine.
Supporters loved what they saw and made their feelings clear on social media about the statistics.
