According to CIES Football Observatory, a recent study has shown that Jordan Henderson has been the best player in Europe in 2020, and fans are delighted.
The CIES Football Observatory has been analysing the top five European leagues and using data provided by OptaPro to piece together an intricate list of the best players in the ‘big-5’.
The current list – calculated from the start of the new year – sees Henderson at the top, on a rating of 92.0, ahead of the likes of Jadon Sancho (90.7) and Angel Di Maria (89.9). In second place behind the Reds skipper is Presnel Kimpembe, rated 91.1.
The report from the Swiss site has revealed that Henderson has topped the list due to his leadership and work-rate which of course is near impossible to find through numbers alone. CIES calculate their rankings on a match-by-match basis.
Liverpool fans are thrilled that their captain is being noticed for his passion and hard work. One supporter has described him as ‘the heartbeat of the team’ whilst another has urged him to scoop the PFA Player of the Year award.
