Last night, Liverpool Under-18s defeated their Merseyside rivals Everton Under-18s in a galvanising encounter in which the Reds won 4-3.
The Toffees were unbeaten in their opening nine matches of the Under-18 Premier League North division this term ahead of their clash with their bitter rivals, who were second in the table and knew that victory would move them to within a point of the league leaders.
And the Reds did indeed clinch all three points in a thrilling clash at the Liverpool Academy on Thursday night, with the goal of the night a wonderfully bent free-kick scored by creative midfielder Leighton Clarkson which put Liverpool 3-1 up at the time, and thus helped inspire them to all three points.
It certainly caught the eyes of Liverpool fans eagerly awaiting information on the game on Twitter, who had something to say about it.
