Liverpool fans dismissed transfer links to the Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, determining that his price tag was far too high.
Do Liverpool really need to sign another defender?
The Brazilian joined Sevilla from the Ligue 1 side Nantes for £13.5m in the summer but his value has increased significantly due to his recent form.
Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in Carlos’ services as they look to find a replacement for Sergio Ramos.
Carlos has played all but 15 minutes of La Liga football for his side this season and has helped them up to third in the league standings.
Supporters were not impressed with the rumours and made their feelings clear about his price tag on social media.
Here you will find some of the best comments from Liverpool fans:
That’s alot of money for a CB, Gomez is good enough to play long term beside VanDijk.
