Plenty of Liverpool fans have been reacting to reports that the Reds are interested in bringing Ajax creative midfielder Quincy Promes to Merseyside.
It’s familiar to both 2016 and 2017, where the Dutchman was regularly linked with a move to Anfield. So, once again, the Netherland international has reportedly been attracting the attention of Anfield officials. Indeed, the 28-year-old has played a key role in guiding the Eredivisie outfit to the top of the table, with Sport.ru claiming that Chelsea are also monitoring his progress.
With a relative lack of depth on the wings for Liverpool, manager Jurgen Klopp may seek a suitable reinforcement for either Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane. Ajax will want £34m for a man that has scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 24 appearances for the side from the Dutch capital. Regardless of his impressive form, supporters were feeling on the nostalgic side and were not excited by the prospect of Promes coming to Anfield.
One fan said that he swears this report is mentioned every year, while another described the Dutchman as “useless” as he did not rate his ability.
