Loads of Liverpool fans are loving some news relayed by James Pearce, as The Athletic reporter claims the Reds could lift the Premier League trophy in their new Nike kit.
There is always excitement surrounding the arrival of a new kit, even more so when that the strip is made by a new brand, and Reds fans are loving the news that the club’s record-setting Nike deal could kick in before they lift their first title in 30 years.
According to Pearce, if the 2019/20 season is revived and continues beyond May, then the deal with Nike will indeed come into effect while the campaign is still going. The Reds secured a roughly £30m-a-year deal with the brand earlier this year, with plans reportedly in place to use global sporting superstars like Lebron James and Serena Williams to promote Liverpool products, a benefit that separated Nike from current manufacturers New Balance.
Fans are loving the news from Pearce, seeing some light at the end of the sport-less tunnel we currently find ourselves in. You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below, where one fan called it ‘awesome news’…
