Liverpool: Fans reminisce over Jerzy Dudek save as they wish him happy birthday

Jerzy Dudek celebrated his 47th birthday on Monday and Liverpool fans were flooding in to send their well wishes to the Istanbul legend.
Despite not particularly being a fan favourite before the 2005 Champions League final, Dudek has written his name in LFC history and will live on to be an Anfield legend to the fans.
It was the Polish goalkeeper’s Atatürk heroics that nudged the Reds over the finish line and snubbed AC Milan on penalties. His point-blank save against Andriy Shevchenko is still massively talked about to this day.
Dudek spent six years with the Merseyside outfit, featuring in 186 matches across all competitions before departing for Real Madrid where he saw out the final years of his career (via Transfermarkt).
Supporters are reminiscing over the historical night in Turkey, with many posting videos of Dudek’s sensational double save. Many fans are hailing the birthday boy a ‘legend’ while others are simply stunned by his Istanbul highlights.
