Liverpool: Fans slam Sam Allardyce after his ‘long ball’ dig at Anfield club - Liverpool

Loads of Liverpool fans have slammed former Everton and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce after he described Jurgen Klopp’s side as a “long ball” team.

The 65-year-old consistently came under fire for his negative tactics and his direct style of play during his time in management, but the ex-England boss insists that the Merseyside club are playing similarly. This led to his dismissal from Goodison Park after just six months as the Gwladys Street faithful failed to warm to his tactical approach.

Allardyce told the Daily Mail that more should be made on the way that the European champions are playing this season, adding that the likes of Martin Tyler would never mention it during a broadcast as it would be “frowned upon”. Supporters were furious and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan described him as a “numpty” and added that he will never get another job, while another labelled him as a “clown”.
