Former Liverpool player Philippe Coutinho completed a season-long loan move from Barcelona to Bayern Munich yesterday, with Bayern’s official website reporting that the Bundesliga club have the option to buy him permanently next summer.
According to a tweet from Liverpool-focused ESPN reporter Melissa Reddy yesterday, Bayern maintained that the two clubs agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transfer, only for Barcelona to publicise the figures involved on their official website. [via @MelissaReddy_]
Bayern Munich’s statement on the Coutinho deal: “The parties have agreed not to divulge the financial details of the agreement”
Barcelona’s: “Bayern Munich will pay 8.5m euros and the player’s wages. The agreement also sees an option to buy for Bayern fixed at 120m euros”

The 27-year-old scored just 11 goals in 54 appearances for the La Liga side last season and, as reported by AS, he was heckled by Barcelona supporters on multiple occasions for his perceived poor performances.
Coutinho had made noises about wanting to leave Liverpool prior to his departure from Anfield, as reported by The Independent, and consequently “lost a lot of support” from Reds fans, according to Metro.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter had a go at Barcelona following confirmation of Coutinho’s move to Bayern:
How insecure are @FCBarcelona they always act like Donald Trump.. ooh I make the best deals ooh

Barca are classless and no way bayern will buy him after the loan expires.. they will go get sane when he’s recovered from his injury. Coutinho is a temporary fix

Dont Barcelona still owe LFC a vast amount of money from the original transfer?
— Jay Royle (@JayRoyle) August 19, 2019
That would be because Barca don’t want to be embarrassed by the ££ lost for his transfer
