Liverpool: Fans think that club’s purchase of Brendan Rodgers’ house means Jurgen Klopp will stay long-term

Liverpool have purchased the Formby house owned by former manager Brendan Rodgers for £3.75m and will rent it free of charge to his successor Jurgen Klopp. [via Daily Mail]
As noted by the Daily Mail and tweeted by @AnfieldWatch, the German has been renting the property from Rodgers since taking over at Anfield in 2015, with the current Leicester manager putting it up for sale during the summer.

The Daily Mail added that Liverpool intend to keep the property as a residence for future managers and will allow Klopp to live rent-free in the accommodation, although he will be required to pay tax on its rental value.
Four years on from his departure as the Reds’ manager, and the £15m pay-off which ensued (as per Daily Mail), this represents the latest transfer of funds from Liverpool to Rodgers.
Klopp is currently contracted to the Anfield club until 2022, at which stage the German is planning to take a year-long sabbatical from football, as reported by The Guardian.
