Liverpool: Fans unconvinced by reports that Jurgen Klopp called Kylian Mbappe about potential transfer - Liverpool

A number of Liverpool fans remain unconvinced about the likelihood of Kylian Mbappe signing for the club despite a report from French media hinting that Jurgen Klopp is quite keen on him.

Le10 Sport claimed [via The Mirror] that the Reds manager made a phone call to the Paris Saint-Germain striker’s father in an attempt to convince the 21-year-old to come to Merseyside. A link to the report was subsequently shared by @AnfieldEdition on Twitter.

According to The Mirror, Mbappe is also highly coveted by Real Madrid and there have been suggestions that the France international could cost as much as £250m. However, that figure may be subject to revision if the transfer market suffers a downturn with clubs losing out on revenue from the stoppage of football due to the coronavirus pandemic (as per BBC).

The 21-year-old has struck 30 goals in 33 games for PSG this season and has an impressive tally of 90 goals in 120 appearances for the French champions. Despite that outstanding scoring return, these Liverpool fans on Twitter weren’t getting too excited by Klopp’s apparent efforts in trying to lure him to Anfield, with one Kopite dismissing the possibility of such a transfer as “laughable“:

Liverpool fans, do you think there is any chance of Mbappe coming to Anfield over the summer? Is he a player that you’d like to have at the club? Comment below with your views!
